FAQ

I'm pregnant! When do I book a maternity session?!

Congratulations!! Maternity sessions are best booked for the very end of your 2nd trimester to the middle of your 3rd trimester depending on how big your bump is. You still want to move around without any discomfort, whilst having a decent sized bump for the finished photos.

What about newborn sessions? What if I haven't had the baby by my due date?

Newborn sessions are a little bit different to book for as I'm fully aware they only come when they are ready (my son had to be induced eventually!). I advise parents to book their newborn session as far in advance as possible once they have their due date. I then keep session dates free for you around that time and ask you to give me a call ASAP after your little one arrives to confirm the date. I ideally do newborn sessions in the first 14 days and no later than 3 weeks after they're born, as after this they're a lot less sleepy and willing to be posed.

I want to book a photo session for my older children, what do I do?

'Everything else' sessions as I call them, can be booked for whenever suits you best. I do work weekends and evenings, although please be aware I'm currently booked up around 2 months in advance, so if you have a specific date in mind, please get in touch sooner rather than later to avoid disappointment. I do very occasionally have cancellations due to illness, so its always worth checking to see if I'm available.

So how do I book a session then?

Very simply, you can email me on angelfirephotography@sky.com call me on 07917152021 or use the contact form on my website. Let me know which type of session you want to book, where you are in the country and what date you are looking for.

Yay I've booked my session! What happens now?

Once you're booked with me I will send you a conformation letter in the post outlining the date, time and chosen location for the session. All you need to do then is decide what you want your little ones to wear!

Do I need to do anything in preparation for the session?

If you're having a session in your home i.e. maternity or newborn sessions, then I do ask that you clear a small space for me to set my backdrops up in, preferably by a window or conservatory so I have a source of natural light. If this isn't possible don't worry, I always bring a studio lighting kit with me just in case. My kit can shrink down to the smallest spaces so don't be concerned if you don't have a big room.
If you're booking a newborn session I ask that you keep the house or the room we will be photographing in nice and warm, and that the baby has had a feed before I get there. I also advise you to have another feed on hand as posing the babies can make them want an extra feed in most cases!
I bring all the props and backdrops with me so you don't need to get anything in particular for the session, unless you want me to use your own hats or blankets, which isn't a problem at all.
For the 'Everything Else' sessions, I do have props you can use if you wish for older children, I don't have a specific request for what clothes they should wear for the session. Something that reflects their personality usually works the best!

I have more questions what do I do?
